This compact bi‑directional interface is designed to connect broadcast cameras directly to SMPTE‑2110 IP infrastructures while keeping the camera workflow simple and familiar. It handles both the outgoing camera signal and the incoming program return through a single device, making it ideal for live production environments where minimal cabling and fast setup are essential. Its small, in‑line form factor allows it to be mounted close to the camera or even used handheld, without adding unnecessary weight or complexity.
The unit supports a full‑bandwidth 12G‑SDI connection, automatically adapting to SD, HD, Ultra HD and DCI 4K formats up to 2160p60. This ensures compatibility with modern broadcast cameras as well as legacy systems, while providing a smooth upgrade path to IP‑based production. Both the camera feed and the SDI program return are converted to and from uncompressed IP video, maintaining image quality and timing accuracy throughout the signal chain.
Connectivity to the IP network is achieved via a single 10G Ethernet interface, allowing direct integration into managed SMPTE‑2110 systems. The device fully supports the SMPTE ST2110‑20, ‑21, ‑30 and ‑40 standards, ensuring proper handling of uncompressed video, audio and ancillary data. Precision Time Protocol support enables accurate synchronization with the rest of the network, which is critical for multi‑camera live production.
To support professional broadcast communication, a built‑in 5‑pin XLR headset connection is provided for talkback. Dedicated controls for volume and push‑to‑talk allow camera operators to stay in constant contact with the production team without additional intercom hardware. Embedded audio is carried transparently in both the SDI and IP streams, preserving all 16 audio channels and associated metadata.
Powering is flexible to suit different deployment scenarios. The unit can be powered directly over the 10G Ethernet connection using PoE, reducing cabling around the camera position, or via the included 12 V DC power supply with locking connector for standalone operation. Configuration and firmware updates are handled through USB‑C, simplifying maintenance and system updates in the field.
