Description:
A great mellow and groovy Brazilian classic co-produced/arranged by renowned producer Haimund Bittencourt! Long-awaited world premiere analog reissue of Aquarius' 1976 album. This is a joy! The album is the first time in the world to be reissued on vinyl, and is the first time in the world to be reissued on vinyl. The following year, Bittencourt produced "Aquarius" (1976), a revival of the Tamba Trio, which later became an acoustic sensation. The album features lovely arrangements and a bouncy groove that makes the songs sound fluid and straightforward. The chorus work is reminiscent of such great groups as Quartet en Sea and MPB4, and Bittencourt's own guitar work perfectly supports the band. The cover of "So Tem Lugar Pra Voce" from "Burnier & Cartier" (1974) at the beginning of the album is just too good to be true. The songs include João Donato's famous "A Ra" with a mixed chorus of male and female voices, "Chega De Saudade", a great bossa nova song that needs no explanation, "Tamanco No Samba", also known as Orlandivo's version, and the last song "Pink Bar", written by Alberto Aranciz, the bass player of Aquarius, all of which are filled with the brilliance of the golden age of MPB! The last song, "Pink Bar," is penned by Aquarius bassist Alberto Arantzis, and every song is filled with the brilliance of the golden age of MPB! Originally released on the prestigious Continental label, this is now a highly collectible album, and has only been reissued on CD once (in Japan!). This is a must have CD reissue for those in the know of this mellow Brazilian masterpiece.
