This high‑performance network switch is purpose‑built for modern film and television facilities that rely on SMPTE‑2110 IP workflows. Designed specifically for broadcast environments, it delivers extremely low latency and deterministic timing while remaining simple to deploy and operate. Unlike conventional IT switches, all network ports are positioned on the rear panel, matching the layout of broadcast equipment and keeping cabling neat, secure and out of sight.
The unit provides a powerful combination of bandwidth and flexibility, featuring sixteen independent 10 Gb Ethernet ports using standard RJ‑45 connectors. These connections support 100 Mb, 1 Gb and 10 Gb BASE‑T, allowing direct integration with a wide range of broadcast devices, recorders, converters and workstations. For backbone connectivity and high‑capacity uplinks, two 100 Gb Ethernet QSFP28 ports are included, supporting both high‑speed copper cables and long‑distance optical fiber modules.
A defining feature is the built‑in video‑style routing panel on the front. This allows multicast routing for 2110 IP signals to be configured using familiar broadcast concepts rather than complex IT networking tools. Engineers can manage streams without specialist networking knowledge, making it ideal for OB vans, fly‑away kits and compact studios where speed and simplicity are critical.
Precise synchronization is fully supported, with compliance for Precision Time Protocol IEEE 1588‑2008 (PTP v2) and SMPTE ST 2059‑1 and ST 2059‑2. Native NMOS support ensures seamless discovery, registration and connection management for IP video devices, enabling reliable and scalable 2110 IP infrastructures. This makes the switch a strong foundation for IP‑based production systems.
Monitoring and control are handled through an integrated 2.2‑inch colour LCD and a comprehensive front‑panel control surface. Network activity, device names and connections can be viewed locally, while HDMI and SDI monitoring outputs allow status to be displayed on external monitors. The rack‑mount enclosure occupies one rack unit and includes both AC mains and 12 V DC power inputs for flexible installation.
