Background: thioredoxin domain containing 5 (TXNDC5) Homo sapiens This gene encodes a protein-disulfide isomerase. Its expression is induced by hypoxia and its role may be to protect hypoxic cells from apoptosis. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
