This is a vintage coiled rope art basket crafted by Ruth Lescohier in the style of Native American tribes of "Nova Albion" circa 1981. The heavy, roped and coiled textile basket features rich tones of burgundy, olive, and tawny. A stone hang closes the hinged lid of the basket.
Crafted by Ruth Lescohier in 1981 after her years of research on the Native American tribes of "Nova Albion" (northern coastal California). The traditional baskets of the Coast Miwok and Pomo people were her inspiration.
In good condition with wear consistent with age and use.
