Red Line Tetra (Hyphessobrycon amapaensis) is named for its distinctive vivid red horizontal line running the full length of the body. From the Amapá state of northern Brazil, near the border with Guyana. Amapaensis means 'from Amapá.'
Feeding & Care Tip: Sera Vipan Tropical Flakes and Hikari Micro Pellets make excellent daily staples. Supplement 2–3× per week with Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Bloodworms, Hikari Frozen or Freeze-Dried Baby Brine Shrimp, or Hikari Vibra Bites. Feed small amounts 2–3 times daily.
Native to rivers of Amapá state, northern Brazil — coastal Atlantic drainages with soft, slightly acidic water.
Keep in groups of at least 8. The red lateral line is most vivid in well-conditioned fish in soft water. Peaceful community tetra.
