This whip is made of rolled leather or hide.
Many rolled hide whips can be described as sjambok or litupa - this one is a little different - it is not completely smooth like a sjambok, the rough side of the leather seems to be on the outside
It also tapers to a lighter more flex ible end than most examples.
Its handle is covered in fine silver filigree, and there are four bands of silver wire decoration along its length.
There is a dent in the hollow silver filigree handle near its top
Although the end is flexible the whip has a bend halfway along its length , this could possibly be straightened with steam, but possibly not. .
