Unit History

The Navy Medicine Training Support Center (NMTSC) is the Navy component command that provides administrative and operational control over Navy staff and students assigned to the Medical Education & Training Campus (METC) and other medical programs in the San Antonio area. At any given time NMTSC has over 2,500 students and over 500 instructors and support staff onboard. Additionally, NMTSC has three detachments (Naval Medical Center San Diego, Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, and Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune) supporting our clinical phases of our advanced Corpsman schools.
