The original imprints of childhood trauma reside in the past. But because of these imprints, the personality adapts to accommodate the trauma and eventually attracts similar people, events and situations that trigger the original traumatic imprint thereby continuing the trauma cycle. Often we partner with people whose behavior will either directly or subtly remind us of our original abusers. Because this process is largely unconscious, we can become caught in a cycle that cannot change until we address all aspects of the complexity - the past, the personality adaptation and our behaviors in the present.
To use a metaphor, trauma is like a snake. The tail of the snake resides in the past and the head in the present. Removing the trauma means changing the imprint of the past - energetically, neurologically or by some spiritual or shamanic means - and changing present behaviors driven by the adaptive personality. With wisdom, patience and guidance, we can become free of the repeating pain of the past.
This workshop is for therapists and trauma-informed practitioners who would like to bring flower essences into trauma work with clients. The class highlights two types of flower essences: those that address and shift the imprints of the past and those that support new behaviors in the present. Gradually, the potency of the trigger is lessened giving the client a greater range of choices to manage the people and events that have played a role as a triggers.
