Janice has worked for CHiPS fo 13 years and is one of the main reasons the soup kitchen is such a welcoming place. Her goal is to make the time that the guests spend at CHiPS be a safe respite from the challenges of the streets or shelters.
This piece is part of my upcoming exhibition – The Faces of CHiPs - What if God lived in Gowanus? – a series of studies and portraits of the people of CHiPs, a soup kitchen/residence that has served my neighborhood for 50 years. All proceeds from sales of paintings and prints will be donated to CHiPs to further their mission.
The original is 17" x 14" and is sold framed in a 25" x 22" frame with matt. The prints are beautiful accurate representations of the original, though slightly smaller (16" x 13"). I use Hahnemuhle German Etching paper and print right to the edges. The blacks are black, and the prints are virtually indistinguishable from the originals.
