Oracle bone inscriptions (甲骨文; jiǎ gǔ wén) are the earliest Chinese writing scripts discovered. These characters were carved on tortoise shells and animal bones. They were basically used for recording daily activities and for almost everything, such as weather, cultures, health, farming and fortune. 

These beautiful characters are primitive form of Chinese characters that we are using today. They shed light on how the language came into being, while also revealing clues to the origins of these characters.
