The Flomatic S002410300 16FL 2" stainless-steel flanged Y-strainer is a heavy-duty 316 stainless-steel strainer designed to protect pumps, control valves, and downstream equipment from pipeline debris. This model features an all 316 stainless-steel body with raised-face flanged ends, an internal 316 stainless-steel 20 mesh screen, an FNPT tapped retainer cap for blow-off or drain connection, and a PTFE cap seal. It is rated for a maximum working pressure of 600 psi and a maximum temperature of 450°F (230°C)* when properly selected for the application.

Operation: The 16FL Y-strainer is installed in the pipeline with the strainer pocket oriented downward so that solids collect in the body instead of being carried downstream. As flow passes through the 20-mesh stainless-steel screen, particles larger than the mesh openings are captured and retained. The FNPT tapped retainer cap allows the strainer to be blown down or drained and the screen to be removed for cleaning or replacement once the line has been isolated and depressurized.

Construction: An all 316 stainless-steel body, cover, and screen provide excellent resistance to corrosion in demanding water, process, and industrial services. The raised-face flanged ends allow bolted installation into standard 150# stainless-steel or compatible flanged piping systems. The PTFE cap seal provides a reliable, tight seal at elevated temperatures, and the bolted retainer cap gives quick access to the internal screen for routine maintenance.
