I have a particular love for the graphic patterns rendered in black and rust against cream body on Isleta pueblo pottery, with these patterns also carrying symbolic meanings relating to nature, cycles of life, infinity, etc. Boldly hand-painted all the way around, and with a tall twisted clay handle, this "friendship" basket is a lovely example of a earlier piece created for the tourist market-- c. 1920s-30s or so, I believe. With some writing on the underside, perhaps including a signature but also it appears a note relating to how/from whom it was originally acquired.

5" t x 3 7/8" in diameter. Very good condition, with a couple of small chips to the interior of the rim, not visible from the exterior--as documented. Pretty much no paint loss, color strong and bold, sound and sturdy.
