This original art piece uses a favorite vintage photograph from my collection: Two friends or sisters out for a bike ride. The piece features layers of encaustic (beeswax) medium and oil pigments. Edges are painted white and gold and feature drips from the hot beeswax medium, which adds to the tactile nature of the finished piece.

The encaustic wax encases the images, and each new layer lets the layers below show through. Encaustic collage pieces offer a wonderful depth, texture, and tactile nature for the viewer to enjoy.

Measures 8 x 8 inches. On cradled birch board, signed, ready for hanging.
