The ancient city of Merv. A gate between the east and the west. A center of science and commerce. The largest city in the world.

In Merv: The Heart of the Silk Road, players compete to gain power and wealth in the prosperous city in the center of the country. Through careful court machinations, timely donations to the Grand Mosque, and obtaining favorable trade deals, players attempt to pocket as much of that wealth as possible.

Meanwhile, Mongol hordes are approaching outside the city walls. If you help build the city walls, you give up precious opportunities to build your own status, but if you leave it unprotected, you burn up the city and all. Every decision weighs heavily and the consequences of every misstep are great. Will you rise to prominence or fade into obscurity?

The Games Friends: " Merv looks beautiful and plays wonderfully. The principle is simple: you choose a row or column with your worker and you perform an action from that row or column. A bit like Targi, but with many different tracks around it. It is an expert game because of the many action options, but highly recommended!
