The MICRO-PLUS is a prong-style training collar sized for smaller breeds. Its fine 1.5 mm wire gauge and center-plate give even, controlled communication on small necks, with two rings and an assembly chain - in low-profile black stainless steel.
The slim 1.5 mm gauge is purpose-made for small dogs, the center-plate keeps the collar aligned, and the two rings give a live (correcting) and a fixed attachment option. Adjustable by adding or removing links.
Is the MICRO-PLUS for small dogs?
Yes - the fine 1.5 mm wire gauge and 13.5 in (35 cm) length are purpose-made for smaller breeds and small necks; it is the fine end of our range, the opposite of the 3.0 mm ULTRA-PLUS built for powerful dogs.
Why a 1.5 mm gauge - what does the fine wire do?
A finer wire sits correctly on a small neck and delivers precise, even communication scaled to a small dog, rather than the bulk of a thicker prong - paired, as always, with correct fit and training.
What are the two rings for?
The live ring engages the martingale tightening for an active correction, while the fixed (dead) ring gives a static, non-tightening attachment - clip to the live ring for training corrections, or to the fixed ring when you want a steady, non-closing fit.
What does the center-plate do?
The center-plate links the prong sections at the front so the collar stays aligned and sits flat and stable around the neck, instead of bunching or rotating like a plain chain - giving more even, predictable pressure.
How does the assembly chain limit pulling?
The assembly chain works martingale-style: when the dog pulls, the chain draws the collar to a controlled, limited tighten and no further, so the correction stays measured rather than continuous.
How should it fit and where does it sit?
A MICRO-PLUS should sit high on the neck, just behind the ears, snug enough that it can't slide down to the wider lower neck where it loses effect. Add or remove links for that fit, and introduce it under professional guidance.
Is a prong collar humane, and are the tips sharp?
The prong tips are smooth and rounded, not pointed - they apply even, distributed pressure around the neck rather than poking. Fitted correctly and paired with proper training it is a clear communication tool, not a punishment device; introduce it under professional guidance.
Can my dog wear it all day or on a tie-out?
No - a prong collar is a training tool for active, supervised sessions and should come off afterward. Never use it for tie-out or unsupervised wear; use a flat collar or harness for everyday and downtime.
