New work by Carsten Dahl, a leading Danish pianist, born in 1967. Carsten Dahl, one of Denmark's leading pianists, presents a new album. Carsten Dahl is a very popular pianist whose playing is based on swingy beats and bebop phrasing in the jazz tradition. He has also produced a unique Japanese work for Marshmallow Export, and is one of the most well-known artists of this generation in Europe. His new album is a quartet with dynamic American trumpeter Tim Hagens, Swedish double bass player Johnny Ammann, and renowned Finnish drummer Jukkis Uotila. In fact, these four had never played together before gathering on the scene at the jazz club Montmartre, but they shared the stage together for three sold-out shows in August 2021. After three great nights of musical sparks, the four went into the studio for a spontaneous six-hour recording session. The result is this album. It is an introspective jazz piece with a piano at its core, based on a Scandinavian aesthetic.
