Long-awaited! New recording by Kenichiro Kobayashi and the London Philharmonic Orchestra! The session recordings of Kenichiro Kobayashi and the London Philharmonic Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Symphony series released from 2013 to 2015 were well received and created a great buzz. This time, the same tag-team has made session recordings of a number of masterpieces of Russian music at the Abbey Road Studios, a cultural heritage site in London, as in the previous series. The first piece is Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5, which is by far the most popular of his works. Kobayashi has not recorded this piece on CD since 1999, when he recorded it live with the Nagoya Philharmonic Orchestra (OVCL-00001), and the London Philharmonic Orchestra responded to the passionate baton of the "flaming Kobaken" with a highly accurate ensemble. The recording in DSD 11.2 MHz was made with the aim of achieving even higher sound quality, so you can enjoy the intense music of Shostakovich as if it were performed live. Octavia Records
