Our Sirocco Supported Spindle is a lightweight version of a traditional Indian Coin Tahkli and is suitable for superfine singles of short stapled fibers, including cashmere, yak, camel, cotton and high twist fibers such as silk.  Whorl diameter is 1.125 inches.  Because of the small whorl, this is a super fast spindle.

Choose from available whorls and your spindle will be made to order and shipped within 2 weeks.  All spindles are made with an approximately 9.5 inch long carbon fiber shaft, will weigh 6 grams and will test spin for a minimum of 30 seconds.  Spindles come with vinyl end caps for both sharpened tips.  These are hookless spindles and spin best on a glass or porcelain surface  - the carbon fiber tip may be damaged by other surfaces and show excessive wear.  Matching bowls are available in clear, blue, green, red, purple, and pink glass.
